Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) This is Thomas Klarmann's first approach to the "Argos" project, and I admit that I like it a lot, despite some harsh criticism I've read on the internet. The main argument is that it's just a mindless blend of the popular progressive music of the 70's, without a distinct identity. I don't second that... Granted, there are a lot of more or less overt hints and nods towards "Genesis", "Gentle Giant", "Van der Graaf Generator", "Hatfield and the North", "Caravan", "The Beatles", and "Klaatu" on this album, both in the songs as well as in the track titles, so it's clearly sort of a tribute to the pioneering era of prog. However, it's far from being a flat-out rehash. In my opinion, it's more of a loving wink at a time gone by, that has changed our understanding of rock music in a quite pleasant way, and that lives on in various transformed shapes. Favorite track: Time For Love.
